Yesterday it was reported that just a handful of BP stations and a few Esso owned Tesco Alliance stations were closed due to delivery issues caused by the shortage of HGV drivers.
Today, Friday, motorists around the UK are panic buying fuel across the UK, forming long queues at petrol stations.
There is no shortage of fuel at refineries, just delivery issues, but that hasn't stopped the public panicking to fill up their vehicles with fuel.
The selfish action of so many does not give any respect to workers, including those who work in the emergancy services, NHS, carers who will now have to queue or even search to much needed fuel for their duties.

Panic buying of petrol has commenced in Llanrwst and Betws y coed.
I hope there will be some left for me or I’ll be running on empty.
Well it wasn't going to be long before some pumps became out of action. Many stations have already introduced maximum spends such as £30.
People took to twitter to vent their frustration, anger, and of course some humour
Ian Jeffery @Ian_Jeffery tweeted
The heartwarming thing about seeing all the morons queuing and #panicbuying petrol and this morning is knowing that they will also all have about 1,000 toilet rolls in that car incase they get short whilst waiting #fuelshortage
Matt Tacey @NHSNurse15
I wish people could panic buy common sense ...

If you’re filling your car up, just to park it on the drive, so no one else can have the fuel “just in case you need it”.
You’re the problem.
Not the truckers.
You.
reggies mum @kellsley
Seriously people are filling Jerry cans up again - why are the petrol stations not banning these? It’s obviously they are being selfish when they fill their tank and 2 cans at the same time!

Stupid people, reacting to sensationalized news articles. There where 5 out of 1,200 BP garages that didn't get one delivery. Now the U.K. is going to have sort term fuel issues all around the country.
Because while there wasn't a fuel shortage just a sort term delivery issue, The great British public have force a much bigger issue upon themselves just so they can have a car full of fuel parked on their driveway for the weekend. Now the logistics of filling ALL the fuel stations up for those that need to go about their business in a sensible manner is a much greater issue. So well done for your selfishness and stupidity.
For those that got fuel today without needing it. Congratulate yourself for being a grade 'A' moron.

Doubt they are happy. The logistical fall out from this will be massive. They have sold no extra fuel. They have just sold it sooner.

They will have sold some extra, people will have wasted some queuing and some when it overflows because they tried to cram every last drop in.
